This week’s accomplishment: Ulloa helped Serrano make it back to the CIF State Cross Country Championships with a fourth place finish at CIF-Southern Section Finals in the Division 2 race Saturday. Ulloa ran a personal best time of 17 minutes, 56 seconds at the Riverside City Cross Country Course, cutting 26.5 seconds off her time from the previous week.
What do you like most about your sport: I like how it’s a team sport but you can also succeed as an individual. And I just love to run!
How long have you been playing your sport and how did you get started: I started running cross country in seventh grade at Quail Valley Middle School. I got started in elementary school. I would participate in all the school jog-a-thons and that’s when I discovered that I absolutely loved running.
Pregame ritual: I pray and do the sign of the cross.
Most memorable sports moment: Doing well at Mt. SAC this year and not needing my inhaler or my nebulizer machine.
Something most people don’t know about you: I’ve been playing the clarinet for seven years and I’m currently in the wind ensemble.
How would you spend $1 million: I would donate part of it and use the rest for med-school.
Where would you go if you could travel anywhere in the world: I would travel to Greece.
If you had an extra hour every day, how would you spend it: I would spend it sleeping.
What superpower do you wish you had: Teleportation
