Former MLB pitcher and World Series MVP Josh Beckett was arrested over the weekend after tackling a country singer at a Texas country club.
The 37-year old Beckett jumped on stage during an open mic night and tackled the lead singer of the band mid-performance, according to TMZ.
Beckett was arrested for public intoxication and was “a danger to himself and others” according to officers.
The singer, who remains to be unidentified, told police that he suffered serious injuries to his arm, neck and shoulder from the incident, including a torn rotator cuff and dislocated shoulder.
There’s no video of the incident, but the photo below shows Beckett launching himself on stage.
