Caltrans is looking for a wide range of white collar and blue collar candidates, from civil engineers to maintenance and equipment operators.
According to CBS’ Good Day Sacramento, Caltrans will be having job fairs throughout the state looking for qualified individuals to fill over 1,100 positions.

Michelle Tucker, the department’s chief of human resources, told the Fresno Bee, “We’re constantly hiring.”
Two trends are driving the department’s hiring spree. Older workers are retiring, and the state’s new gas tax increase will be able to fund a lot of new transportation projects.
