The best High Desert community events are happening all around town.  Here are some things you and your family can enjoy in the month of August.

Enjoy these theatrical productions:

  • Sin, Sex And The C.I.A. – Get caught up in this C.I.A. scandal and enjoy this complex, laugh out loud farce.  August 4th & 5th, 11th &12th and 18th & 19th at 7:30pm, August 6th, 13th and 20th at 2:30pm at The High Desert Center for the Arts. 15615 8th St in Victorville. Tickets are on sale through August 4th
  • You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown- August 4th & 5th and 10th thought 12th at 7:00pm, August 6th & 13th at 2:00pm at the Black Box Theater at Victor Valley College, 18422 Bear Valley Road, Victorville.
  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame -August 4, 5, 6, 11 & 12 at 7:00pm, and August 13, 2017 at 2:00pm at Granite Hills High School, 22900 Esaws Road, Apple Valley. The Snowline Players will be bringing the Disney classic of Quasimodo, the deformed bell ringer of Notre Dame to life.
  • If you have the talent to perform, auditions for ‘Anne of Green Gables’ will be held at 6:00pm on August 21st and 22nd at the Barstow Community College Performing Arts. No preparation required; auditions will consist of cold readings from scripts. Roles are available for adults, teens and one girl (8-11 years old)

  • August 26, 2017…Free Health Fair & Vision Screening-8:00am to 1:00pm at James A.Woody Community Center, 13467 Navajo Rd, Apple Valley-vision screening (all ages) will be conducted by the California Lions Friends in Sight-arrive early-first come- first served- not guaranteed that all patients in line will be seen-free recycled eyeglasses to best match with visual correction.
