Summer brings out the best High Desert community events happening all around town.  Here are some things you and your family can enjoy in the month of July.

July 1, 2017 to July 29, 2017 – Professional Baseball is back in town at Adelanto Stadium 12000 Stadium Way with our new High Desert Yardbirds.   Bring the entire family out for a night of fun and baseball.  Join Route 103 in support of our new team.  Don’t miss a game. July 4, 2017Fireworks Spectacular in Barstow Gates open at 5:00pm at Robert A. Sessions Sports Park, 2800 Mayor Katy Parkway in Barstow. Day includes a 5k Freedom Run, live music. Kids activities, beer garden, and fireworks at 9:00pm. Visit for info

July 4, 2017Big Bear Independence Day Fireworks  fireworks can be seen from any of Big Bears public parks or on a boat on the lake. Show begins between 8:45p and 9:15p. For more details call the Big Bear Visitors Center at 800-424-4232

July 6, 2017-The “Next Big Thing” at Apple Valley Legacy Museum-4:30pm at the old Bob Hope Cottage # 153. Historic Apple Valley Inn 20601 Hwy 18-High Desert Jammers Band will start the evening with patriotic set followed by Old Timers Open Mic Night, (giving in site into Apple Valley’s colorful past) then back to the music.-visit the museum and chow down on some Old Town Dogs.

July 7, 2017- Adelanto Movies In The Park -movie starts at dusk at Richardson Park. 11600 Air Expressway, Adelanto-feature movie is “SING” – bring lawn chairs and blankets. Concessions will be available

July 11 to July 14, 2017-2017 Summer Explorers Camp-9:00am – 12:30pm Tuesday thru Friday at The San Bernardino County Museum -2024 Orange Tree Lane, Redlands, CA 92374-This session is Giant Beasts of the Ice AgeFor students aged 7yo to 10yo. Join the museum in a mock excavation and learn how to dig up clues from the past. Learn what Ice Age animals once lived in your backyard.

July 14, 2017- Route 103-KVFG, BBC and Rod French Car Cruise-5:00pm to 8:00pm at Burgerlicious 21044 Bear Valley Rd, Apple Valley-It will be a night of fun with music provided by DJ Johnny @ All About Music, 50-50drawings,trophies and more.  -VVAPL will have adorable canines looking for forever homes on site.-Car registration is a donation of monetary value or much needed items for the humane society,  Such as dog food, cat food, cleaning supplies, washable toys, etc.

July 14, 2017Overnight Pool Party at Apple Valley Pool-07-13-17 at 7:00pm to 07-14-17 at 8:00am at AV Recreation Center 14999 Dale Evans Parkway-Grab your family and friends for this FREE overnight pool party. Bring along some toys and camping gear. The pool will be open throughout the night followed by games and activities.-early registration is recommended.

Movies In The Park is happening at Hesperia Civic Plaza Park, 15833 Smoke Tree Street in Hesperia. Bring the family out on select Saturday’s to enjoy a family friendly movie for FREE all summer long.  Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group Sunset Concert Series Bring the family out to the Civic Center Park Amphitheater in Apple Valley 14999 Dale Evans Parkway every Thursday Night except July 6 for a FREE summer concert. Concerts start at 6:00pm. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for seating, but please leave your pets at home. July 13-features- Latin Express with Top 40/Latin. July 20-brings Who’s Next (A Tribute to The Who) and July 27- features Southern Spirit with Southern Rock

Summer Pool Sessions Swimming pools are open for the summer. Stay cool in the pool with community open swim. Take swimming lessons or rent out the pool for a pool party.  Check your local city and town website for dates and times for open swim.

Music In The Mountains  Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheater hosts a summer concert series. On July 8, 2017 enjoy the entertainment as John Curry pays Tribute to John Denver with special guest debut of Taylor Made, The James Taylor Tribute Band. On July 22, 2017  head up for China Grove, Tribute to The Doobie Brothers with special guest Turn The Page, an ultimate tribute to Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. Parking and ticket gates open at 5:00pm; all concerts begin at 6:00pm.

Beauty and The Beast ProductionJuly 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2017…Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 2:30pm and 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:30pm     High Desert Center for the Arts 15615 Eighth St. Victorville, CA. -Beauty and The Beast visits the High Desert Center for the Arts through July 30th. Enjoy a magical kingdom, brave heroine, a change of heart and the message of “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”

Apple Valley’s Summer Send Off Party Saturday July 29, 2017…-1:00pm to 3:30pm. $5.00 at the door. Pre-registration is $3.00 by July 26. And doors will open half an hour early for those pre-registered. Civic Center Park Aquatic Center, 14999 Dale Evans Parkway. There will be music, games, water slides, food trucks and more for this goodbye party to the long lazy days of summer.

Summer Movie Series at Victor Valley Museum Saturday July 29, 2017…-11:00am and 2:00pm at 11873 Apple Valley Rd, Apple Valley -feature movie is Finding Dory. The movie, popcorn and refreshments are all included in Museum admission price.
