Authorities are searching for a gunman who, in an apparent act of road rage, left a driver injured after they opened fire on a car in Fontana, Tuesday.
According to California Highway Patrol, the shooting happened at around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday night on the northbound 15 freeway, just south of the 210.
CBS Los Angeles reports that it was confirmed by CHP that a Lexus was indeed struck several times by bullets. The driver was injured and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital after stopping at a parking lot. Thankfully the victim is expected to survive.
CHP said the suspects vehicle is believed to be a white Ford F-150 truck, and that it may have rammed into the Lexus prior to the shooting.
According to CHP, officers were investigating whether a stray bullet shattered the window of a second car, that driver suffered minor cuts.
Reportedly the details of what happened leading up to the shooting haven’t been confirmed. However, CHp reports that if caught the suspect could face attempted murder charges.
