Guns & Drugs Found

Riverside Police Detectives uncover drugs and guns during a vehicle break-in investigation on Friday, March 17th.

A release provided by the City of Riverside Police Department states that around noon on Friday, while detectives were in the process of a doing a follow-up on a vehicle burglary, they discovered a vehicle that matched the vehicle they were looking for at a house in the 5500 block of Dewey Avenue.

Detectives along with an air unit saw a suspicious vehicle leave. As marked patrol cars tried to stop the car, the incident immediately turned into a vehicle pursuit.

The occupant, 58-year-old Alex Grajeda, was spotted throwing multiple items from the car during the pursuit. After police were able to stop Grajeda, he was arrested for felony evading and possession of narcotics for sale.

A search warrant was written to search the house after members of the Post-Release Accountability Compliance (PAC) Team along with detectives made contact at the residence and developed cause.

As authorities searched the house they found weapons and drugs including an assault rifle, handgun, heroin, methamphetamine, and cash.

Police also arrested 47-year-old Manuel Quiroz for multi-felony charges including possessing narcotics for sales, being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of an illegal assault weapon.
