In an effort to make it easy for Victorville residents to clean up their yards and neighborhoods, this Saturday, March 4th, is the City of Victorville and Victorville Disposal Free Neighborhood Cleanup/Free Dump Day event.

Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the former Wal-Mart, at the corner Bear Valley Road and Balsam Avenue, residents can dispose of garden trimmings, broken fences, old furniture, mattresses, appliances, scrap metal, cardboard boxes, extra trash, and other debris free of charge ONLY during the event. Keep in mind NO tires, TVs, computers, hazardous waste, paint, oil, compressed gas cylinders, dirt, or asbestos materials will be accepted at this event.

Stated in a release from the city of Victorville: this cleanup event is for residents of the City of Victorville only, and you must show proof of residency with a current water bill or other utility bill. No commercial vehicles or business waste materials or will be accepted.

Also if you live in Victorville and have mattresses, TVs, computers, tires, scrap metal, e-waste, and/or cardboard to dispose of, you are encouraged to drop those items at the City of Victorville Recycling Drop-off Center instead of the Free Dump event. The Recycling Drop-off Center is at 15164
Anacapa Rd., and is open every Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

If you have used motor oil, paint, batteries, or other hazardous materials that need to be disposed, you can drop those items off for free at the City of Victorville’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center on Loves Lane, off of Desert Knolls Drive, behind the County Fairgrounds. Hours of operation are Wednesdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
