$50,000 reward offered for a 14 year-old Pacoima boy, who has been missing for about a week. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding him.

Elias Rodriguez went missing during one of the huge storms we had last week. At about 1p.m. Friday, February 17th, the teenage boy was last seen in San Fernando, leaving the Cesar Chavez Learning Academies, at 1001 Arroyo Ave.

According to police the 14 year-old borrowed a cell phone from someone so he could call his mother at work to see if she could pick him up. Unfortunately, his mom missed the call.

CBS Los Angeles reports,  LAPD Capt. Robert Marino said that over 60 police officers from L.A. and FBI agents are conducting a grid search in order to locate the teenager. They are searching the neighborhood of where the boy was last seen in the hopes of finding information that will locate him.

Helicopters have searched the Los Angeles River and as of yet haven’t found anything. Pahola Mascorro, Elias’ mother, said their family and friends have also searched for the boy on their own. She remains desperate to know where her son could be and said, “We just need him to come home and (to) know he’s OK.”

According to police, Elias has never run away and his disappearance is out of character for him.

Elias Rodriguez is described as a Latino teenager. He has brown hair and brown eyes, is about 5’4″ and weighs about 100 pounds.

If you or anyone you know has any information about Elias or where he could be, you are urged to call the Los Angeles Police Department’s Mission Area Watch Commander at (818) 838-9800.
